Since 2017, the Ha Long Bay Management Board has installed the microwave data transmission system, repaired and upgraded the camera system at the headquarters of the Board, ports and attractions on the bay to enhance surveillance with tourists customers, ensuring traffic order and safety. The microwave system has also been piloted in three areas, Tuan Chau, Thien Cung cave, the top of Bai Tho mountain ... to transmit free wifi for visitors, ensure data transmission to the monitoring department.

The GPS navigation system upgrade has also been deployed by the Ha Long Bay Management Board in all boats on the bay. Through the GPS system, it helps the Inland Waterway Port and the Ha Long Bay Management Board track the route of the ship, the arrival and drop off point, capture information, the number of passengers on board, search and rescue

Currently, all cruise ships on Ha Long Bay have been installed with GPS navigation systems, the route of sightseeing boats on the bay will be continuously updated to the center of the Bay Management Board and the Quang Ninh Inland Waterway Port. As a result, the continuous updating of data on the software system shortens the time for vehicle licensing.

In parallel with the application of Information technology to improve efficiency in management, the preservation and promotion of the tangible and intangible cultural values has always been of interest to Quang Ninh province. In particular, at the beginning of 2019, the Ha Long Bay Management Board has implemented the conservation and promotion of some typical cultural values of the fishing village on Ha Long Bay. Projects include: repairing, moving conservation raft houses, classrooms, libraries; collecting, displaying and preserving artifacts in Cua Van area and Cai Xa Cong resettlement area; recreate the floating classroom model; teaching, performing charming singing and training for net knitting ... The project has restored the unique cultural features of the people living on the Bay, promoting the sustainable and effective cultural values of the fishing village; forming unique tourism products.

The environmental protection of Ha Long Bay is of top priority. In addition to regularly collecting waste on the bay and surrounding areas, Halong Bay Management Board has promoted propaganda, dissemination, and advising tourists and business units to limit the use of plastic bottles. plastic bags when visiting the bay.

At the same time, arrange a disposable plastic storage area, require visitors to leave disposable plastic items, sign a commitment to protect the bay environment before getting off the ship. The business units on the Bay have actively replaced many items such as: Paper cups, bags, straws ... for visitors. In particular, the Ha Long Bay Management Board is cooperating with Ha Long City to hire a consultant to make detailed planning of aquaculture sites outside the core zone (absolute protection area of the heritage) Ha Long Bay with an area of about 356ha.
