The 3rd Buddhist Congress of Lao Cai Province, term 2022 - 2027

On the morning of April 9, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Lao Cai province held the 3rd Buddhist Congress of Lao Cai province, term 2022 - 2027.

On the Central side, there were the attendance of Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Standing Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; Most Venerable Thich Gia Quang, Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; Most Venerable Thich Bao Nghiem, Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, and Head of the Department of Dissemination of the Dharma, Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; Representative of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Government Committee for Religious Affairs.

On the side of Lao Cai province, there were the attendance of comrades: Ly Thi Vinh, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee for Mass Mobilization; Giang Thi Dung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, agencies and branches of the province and districts, towns and cities; together with more than 100 typical monks, nuns and Buddhists of Buddhism in Lao Cai province.

During the last term, the Buddhist Executive Board of Lao Cai province as well as all monks and nuns have always well complied with the guidelines of the Party, policies and laws of the State. All activities in Buddhist work are concerned and implemented according to the guidance of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, contributing to the consolidation and development of all aspects of Buddhist movements in the area.

The whole province currently has 7 temples, 35 monks and nuns are living officially, 8 cases are completing documents and legal procedures to register activities.

The coordination with authorities at all levels is enhanced, showing harmony and closeness. Regarding the work of increasing the teaching, the Buddhist Executive Board of Lao Cai province has been supplemented and perfected in accordance with the provisions of the Central Regulations on increasing the teaching; The monks and nuns in the province always unite and harmonize with each other in their practice as well as in the work of Buddhism and the propagation of the Dharma. The vast majority of monks and nuns in the province adhere to the Buddhist precepts as well as the internal rules and laws of the State, setting a good example for Buddhist followers to follow.

With the direction of “Dharma, nation and socialism”, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Lao Cai province always focuses on guiding monks, nuns and Buddhists to promote the pure and positive thought of the teachings of Buddhism, creating the true meaning of Buddhism manifest in the construction and development of the homeland and the country, bringing happiness and joy to people.

In order to improve the quality of monks and nuns, every year, the Provincial Buddhist Executive Board sends monks and nuns to train in both Buddhism and Earth Studies.In addition to educating monks and nuns, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha is also interested in guiding Buddhists to understand the Buddhadharma, practice in accordance with the Dharma, do good deeds, cultivate themselves, and aim for humane values, good traditions of the Vietnamese people.

Besides practical activities such as building a common house of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, monks, nuns, Buddhists and people in the province actively participate in social activities and humanitarian activities from charity such as requiting people with meritorious services and helping many unfortunate lives, patients in difficult circumstances, poor households to rehabilitate, helping children in the highlands have the opportunity to go to school.

Inheriting the achievements in the last term, the Vietnam Buddhist Executive Board in Lao Cai province sets out the direction and program of activities for the term 2022 - 2027. In which, continue to improve and develop Buddhist movements in the area; mobilize and encourage Buddhist monks, nuns and followers to actively participate in responding to patriotic emulation movements, promote the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized cities" and other activities, and other campaigns launched by the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front; take care of the restoration, protection and embellishment of pagodas, preserve and promote national cultural identity, and maintain Buddhist rituals. traditions ensure dignified, solemn and in accordance with the local customs and traditions.

Each of the dignitaries, officials and leaders of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Lao Cai province must become an example for Buddhist followers to follow, demonstrating the values of humanity, compassion, charity, and building a harmony relationship between religion - life.

The Executive Board needs to closely coordinate with authorities at all levels, for ensuring its operation in accordance with the principles, directions and Charter of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; promoting religious resources to actively and effectively participate in charity activities, social security, and environmental protection; building a block of national unity and religious solidarity that contribute to the construction of an increasingly civilized and beautiful homeland and country.
