Lao Cai province maintains 9 district units and 152 administrative units at communal level

Under the leadership of Mr. Dang Xuan Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, in the morning of February 16, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to implement the plan carrying the Resolution of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly arranging district-level administrative units of the province in the period of 2019-2021 and establishing Si Ma Cai town of Si Ma Cai district.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of related agencies, units, departments, branches and localities.

Implementing the Resolution of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, from March 1, 2020, Lao Cai province will have 9 district-level administrative units, 152 commune-level administrative units (including 127 communes, 16 wards and 9 towns). In order to implement the Resolution of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the Provincial People's Committee requires districts and cities to base themselves on local practical conditions to proactively and organize publication of central contents and regulations to all people, officials and soldiers throughout the province and completed before March 1, 2020.

All levels and branches strengthened communication work on the implementation of the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of district and commune administrative units in Lao Cai province. Regarding the content of adjusting the administrative boundary between Bao Thang, Bat Xat district and Lao Cai city, it is necessary to organize statistics and review the organizational structure, assets, material facilities, finance ... units within the scope of adjustment to complete the handover before February 27.

Decentralized districts and cities carried out personnel work and consolidated the political system with agencies such as the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committees at all levels and socio-political organizations. In conclusion of the conference, Mr. Dang Xuan Phong, President of the provincial People's Committee, praised the spirit of all levels, branches and localities in implementing the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee. Due to the large workload and short time, the President of the Provincial People's Committee requested that immediately after this meeting, he would have to notify the conclusions and adjust the implementation plan according to the suggestions of all levels and branches to submit to the Provincial Party Committee for comments.
