Lao Cai Tourism flourishes again

After a long quiet period due to social distancing, Lao Cai tourism has begun to show signs of prosperity again. Lao Cai is still a safe, friendly and attractive destination under the eyes of visitors with beautiful natural scenery and rich cultural identity.

Many people in Sa Pa have told me that, every Saturday night, go to Quan yard - the "heart" of Sapa tourism to feel pleasant atmosphere, to listen to the sound of H’mong horn and the sound of lips and watching old church foggy in the cloud to feel the “rhythm” of the "city in the cloud". No need to go far, just watch visitors flock to Sa Pa church yard with a “smartphone” on hand to “check in” Sa Pa church during holiday season 30/4/2020 and at weekends from the time the Government loosened the social distancing enough to see how attractive Sa Pa was under the eyes of tourists. “Although I've come to Sapa many times, I am always impressed by natural beauty and indigenous culture of Sapa. Therefore, my family and I chose Sa Pa for our first trip after the epidemic was controlled” -said Vo Duc Minh (Ho Chi Minh City).

Sapa Tourism has bustled again.

Ms. Hoang Thi Vuong, Head of Culture and Information Department of Sa Pa town said: Sa Pa tourism has not reached the number of tourists as the end of 2019 because currently it is mainly domestic tourists. From April 28 until now, Sa Pa has welcomed nearly 40,000 visitors. The miraculous restoration is the “measure” of tourists' love for this land. We are continuing to coordinate with tourism levels, industries and businesses to stimulate demand and attract tourists.

Thanks to the Government's loosening of social distancing measures as well as control of the Covid-19 epidemic, peak depression of tourism industry has passed, the areas, routes and tourist sites in the province have opened to welcome tourists. Sa Pa National Tourist Area, Lao Cai City, Bac Ha District ... bustled visitors' footsteps. With its majestic, beautiful nature, charming scenery, cool climate and no cases of Covid-19, Lao Cai has created a trust for travelers about a safe, hospitable destination.

Evidence was the Bac Ha district’s Traditional Horse Racing 2020 has achieved unexpected success. Seeing number of spectators and visitors were crowded at Bac Ha district stadium to watch qualifying round, horse racing finals in 2 days (May 30 - 31) can see that Bac Ha tourism has received a new vital energy flow. This is also the first time in 2020, people of the white plateau witnessed crowded traffic, crowded shops, roads jammed by flow of people and vehicles to watch the horse racing. The owners of Tam Hoa plum garden, who were worried earlier, have relieved their fears of local specialty cannot be consumed.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam, Bac Ha town confided: For Bac Ha people these days, life is more fun than Tet because there are tourists. Motels, hotels are all full occupancy, the restaurant is full of tables, busy roads, Tam Hoa plums are selling good price ... always the dream of every people here after the Lunar New Year.

Thousands of tourists watched traditional horse racing competition in Bac Ha district.

According to information from the District Department of Culture and Information, only two days Bac Ha district traditional horse racing tournament in 2020 took place, Bac Ha district has welcomed nearly 50,000 tourists in and outside the province.

With success of the Bac Ha district’s traditional horse racing tournament in 2020, Mr. Hoang Van Khoa, Vice Chairman of Bac Ha District People's Committee, believes that Bac Ha tourism can recover and maintain growth momentum to stimulate social - economic development, especially when Bac Ha district was recognized as a provincial tourism area on 3/1/2020.

Mr. Hoang Van Khoa affirmed: The People's Committee of Bac Ha district decided to organize the 2020 Open Horse Racing Competition at the right time to help revive district tourism industry after a long time of quietness. We determine development direction of district tourism in the coming time to associate tourism with conservation, promote traditional cultural values, associate tourism with sustainable agricultural development, attaching importance to tourism development. The community also calls for strategic investors to build high quality tourism products and services.

Not only Sapa, Bac Ha but Lao Cai, Bao Yen and Van Ban cities also began to bustle with tourists' footsteps again. Looking at increasing number of tourists coming to the areas, routes, and tourist destinations, I believe that Lao Cai tourism still has a special position in the eyes of tourists. If policy of stimulating tourism is widely implemented and stronger, surely Lao Cai tourism will still have a successful year.
