Si Ma Cai celebrates 20 years of re-establishment of the district

On the evening of September 18, Si Ma Cai district solemnly held the district's 20th re-establishment anniversary (September 22, 2000 - September 22, 2020).

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial People's Council. Members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the People's Committee of the province, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; leaders, representatives of agencies, departments, branches, unions, the provincial armed forces; leaders of districts, cities, and towns in the province; The former comrades were leaders of Si Ma Cai province and district through periods with a large number of cadres, party members and people in the community.

On the first day of re-establishment, the district situation was challenging. The economy was small. Production was mainly self-sufficient. Through many difficulties and challenges, Si Ma Cai has grown up enormously and achieved many outstanding achievements. The economic structure develops in the right direction, with an average annual growth rate of nearly 10%.

Agricultural production makes a mark when the total output of grain food in the district by 2020 reaches 26,500 tons (an increase of nearly 20 thousand tons compared to 2000). Breeding has changed from natural grazing to captivity and commodity production, with an annual growth rate of over 10%. Rural infrastructure is increasingly interested and invested when 100% of inter-commune and inter-village roads are hardened; 100% of households have semi-permanent houses or more; 97% of households have access to the national grid. Up to now, the district has 4/9 communes meeting new rural standards.

Along with economic development, socio-cultural development tasks, ensuring national defense and security are always concerned, creating a foundation for sustainable and comprehensive development of the district. People's average income reached 31.5 million/year (increased three times compared to 2000); the low household rate is 12.35%.

Party-building work, a robust political system has been concerned and paid attention; the political system from district to grassroots level has been strengthened and consolidated; leadership capacity and combat strength of Party organizations are continually improving. Si Ma Cai was honored by the Party and State with many noble titles such as Labor Medal, Second and Third Class, Merit and Emulation Flag of the Prime Minister, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and many collectives and individuals honored and commended by all levels.

Comrade Nguyen Van Vinh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, presented flowers, the letter of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province congratulated Si Ma Cai district.

 

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Van Vinh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, acknowledged and praised the Party Committee, government, and people of Si Ma Cai district achieved during the past. He suggested that Si Ma Cai district continue to promote the proud achievements earned to complete the political goals and tasks set out in the coming time.

The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized: It is necessary to continue to strengthen the block of the great unity of ethnic groups in the area in parallel with the party committee, the government focuses on socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, building the Party and the political system; bring into full play the district's advantages and potentials in natural conditions, agricultural production, tourism, cultural identities of ethnic groups... Concentrating resources from the state budget to ensure social security; regularly review and remove difficulties and obstacles in the implementation of socio-economic development tasks and goals, making an essential contribution to the performance of the resolutions' objectives and functions the Party Congress levels set out.

On this occasion, Si Ma Cai district honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister. Provincial People's Committee awarded the badge "For the cause of construction and development of the province." Si Ma Cai District People's Committee commended collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement towards the district re-establishment's 20th anniversary.
