Van Ban: Develop cinnamon into a key forest tree

Van Ban district currently has 6,500 ha of cinnamon growing area. According to the district agriculture sector, the value of income from cinnamon is from 400 to 500 million VND / 1 ha.

Currently, the area of cinnamon being harvested is 5,000 ha, the area under tending is 1,500 ha. Van Ban district has been taking measures to improve the quality of Cinnamon, such as guiding people to take care of Cinnamon in accordance with the technical process, high survival rate, good growth and development. By the end of 2020, to increase the area of Cinnamon in the whole district to 7,000 ha.

By 2025, the target is to strive for an area of cinnamon planting to reach 10,000 ha, mainly concentrated in the communes of Vo Lao, Tan An, Tan Thuong, Nam Tha, Liem Phu and Chieng Ken.

To create stable output for people, the district has actively invited businesses to invest in building an organic cinnamon processing factory in Liem Phu commune; Planning 1,200 ha of organic cinnamon in 2 communes Liem Phu and Nam Tha./.
