“Books – Light of knowledge, connecting the future”

That is the theme of the Reading Festival held by Coc San Primary School - Lao Cai city on the morning of April 16, in response to the 8th Vietnam Book Day in Lao Cai province - 2021.

The pupils had the opportunity to participate in many attractive and exciting activities at the festival, such as the "Book display and art book arrangement" contest. Cultural exchanges on the subject of books; Book-related knowledge exchange; Reading books at the green library, going to the mobile library, and stopping by the booths…

The program began with appealing musical performances by pupils from the school. The festival atmosphere was heightened by the exchange of books and the answering of questions about them. The exchange will not only help the children understand the Reading Festival better, but it will also be a driving force in promoting their desire to read.

The contest "Displaying Books and Arranging Art Books" featured 5 competing teams from across grades of school. The Mang Non team used books to construct a model of the "Lighthouse" in the middle of the vast sea. The lighthouse is also a source of knowledge for people, assisting them in gaining more knowledge and effectively applying that knowledge in their daily lives. Many books are arranged in the "Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum" model and the "Temple of Literature Quoc Tu Giam" model... Following the section on book-arrangement, leader of the pupils explained the concept of arranged cubes and introduces the concept of his book desk.

The content "Reading books at the green library" inspires pupils.

With the content "Reading books at the green library" has created a new environment-friendly reading space for children, they have the opportunity to exchange good books with their friends, which also contributes part to help pupils improve their reading skills and be interested in reading books every day.  

Also at the festival, the school organized a donation of children's books and stories to add to the school library and support the local school libraries.
