Lao Cai artists participated in the Northwest tourism art photography exhibition

The Association of Literature and Arts of Yen Bai Province organized the Art photography Contest of 8 Northwest provinces, expanding the theme of "Beautiful Photos of Tourism in 8 Northwest provinces" in 2021.

After more than 4 months of launching, the Contest Organizaing Committee has received over 400 artworks submitted by the authors to the contest.

Due to the complicated situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Organizing Committee has not conducted evaluating and awarding. However, in order to promptly introduce, propagate and promote tourism, to meet the demand of the people, the Association of Literature and Arts of Yen Bai province conducted an online art photography exhibition "Beautiful photos of Tourism in 8 Northwest province" on the Yen Bai literature and art website and the Association's fanpage. 

The exhibition would be divided into several periods, each period introduced from 20 to 30  beautiful photos selected from artworks participating in the contest.

With the criteria of beauty in form and depth in content, the exhibition aimed to introduce and promote the image of the country, people, culture and tourism of the 8 Northwest provinces to domestic and international tourists, contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual life of people of all ethnic groups in the region.

The online art photography exhibition was practical meaning activity, creating great impact in social life amongst the complicated development of the Covid-19 pandemic; at the same time, strengthening the cooperation relationship in tourism development of 8 Northwest provinces to expand in new conditions.

On the morning of May 17th, the "Sa Pa Water - pouring Season 2026" race took place in Ta Van commune, Lao Cai province, attracting approximately 1,200 participants. The event coincided with the beginning of the rainy season, when the terraced rice fields in the Muong Hoa valley are covered in water, creating a characteristic landscape of the Northwest highlands.
