Lao Cai (Vietnam) - India tourism promotion seminar

On the afternoon of August 5, the Provincial People's Committee and the Embassy of India in Vietnam co-organized the webinar on tourism promotion of Lao Cai (Vietnam) - India in order to exploit the potential and tourism strengths of Lao Cai (Vietnam) and India.

The seminar was held with 6 bridge points in India, Hanoi and Lao Cai (Vietnam).

Overview of seminar

The Indian side and its partners included Ms. Mini Kuman, Interim Representative and associates of the Embassy of India in Hanoi; representatives of the Indian Tourism Office in Singapore; Travel Association of India in New Delhi; Representative office of Indigo Airlines (India) in Hanoi; Vietjet Air in Hanoi.

Attending the seminar at Lao Cai bridge point were Ms. Giang Thi Dung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments and branches: Tourism, Foreign Affairs, Planning and Investment, Culture and Sports, Provincial Tourism Promotion and Information Center; leaders of associations, tourism businesses in the province.

At the seminar, the parties introduced the potential for tourism development of Lao Cai province and India; exchanging and promotion of tourism cooperation programs between Lao Cai province and India; promoting cooperation programs with airlines in Vietnam and India, in order to exploit the tourism market between the two parties.

Speaking at the seminar, Comrade Giang Thi Dung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: Lao Cai tourism industry is aiming to build leading "green" and "smart" adventure sports and nature tourism destination in Vietnam and the region; associated with the traditional cultural identity of the ethnic groups, where tourists will have different and authentic experiences that exceed expectations with special emotions on each journey.  

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: The organization of the Lao Cai - India tourism promotion seminar has special significance meaning, contributing to strengthening the traditional friendship relationship, promoting cooperation activities in the development of tourism and development in the field of tourism between Lao Cai province, the Embassy of India and related parties. At the same time, the seminar played as a bridge, creating opportunities for Lao Cai and Indian tourism businesses to share, access information about each other's tourist markets, seek networking opportunities, tourism development cooperation.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee wished to continue receiving the attention and support from the Embassy of India in promoting tourism, especially promotional activities of Lao Cai tourism in India and committed to creating the best conditions, ready to welcome Indian businesses to research and implement tourism development investment projects in Lao Cai.

At the end of the seminar, the two parties highly appreciated the discussed and agreed contents, and wished that the seminar would open up opportunities for cooperation and development for Lao Cai (Vietnam) - India tourism and connect tourism businesses of the two parties, organize bilateral visits to have more specific development cooperation plans in the near future.
