7 provinces will participate in the Cultural Festival of Ethnic Minorities in the Northwest region

The 15th Northwestern Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival 2022 with the theme "Cultural colors of ethnic minorities in the Northwest" will take place from December 2 to 4 in Phu Tho province. There are 7 localities that will participate in the festival including Dien Bien, Hoa Binh, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Phu Tho, Son La and Yen Bai.

The festival aims to honor the traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities in the Northwest in the unified and diverse culture of the community of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam. This is also an opportunity to introduce and promote to domestic and international friends about the potential for development of culture, sports, tourism, and cultural heritage values of the Northwest region. Therefore, the people of the Northwestern ethnic groups have the opportunity to meet, and exchange experiences, preserve the traditional cultural identity, strengthen the strength of the great unity bloc of the whole nation and contribute to building the Northwest region to develop quickly and sustainably, through this festival.

 
In the process of innovation, integration and development, the festival is also an opportunity to introduce and promote the potential and strengths of cultural development, sports, tourism and traditional culture of the Northwest ethnic groups to domestic and international friends; contribute to preserving, promoting and honoring the cultural identities of the ethnic groups; raise awareness and sense of responsibility in building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the country's sustainable development requirements. As a result, the aspiration, belief and national pride will be aroused, promoting the positivity, sense of self-reliance and self-reliance of ethnic minorities in socio-economic development, hunger eradication and poverty alleviation.


The festival will also create an opportunity to propagate to businesses, domestic and foreign tourists about the potential and advantages of the Northwest provinces; attract investment in tourism, create driving force for investment promotion, harmoniously combine conservation and promotion of cultural heritage values associated with tourism development, etc.
Incense offering ceremony in memory of Hung Kings at Hung Temple historical relic site; opening and closing ceremony; performing activities, introducing excerpts of festivals, rituals of traditional cultural activities of the nation; exhibition space to introduce and promote traditional cultural products and display and introduce local traditional cuisine; Mass art festival and performance of traditional ethnic costumes in the Northwest will be held during the festival days.

In addition, there is an exhibition of cultural characteristics of ethnic groups in the Northwest through images, artifacts, costumes, ethnic musical instruments, typical cultural products; display and introduce traditional cuisine of the Land of the Ancestors with 200 beautiful photos; exhibition of beautiful photos of Northwest tourism in 2022... A number of tourism activities are implemented and organized at the Festival such as displaying and introducing tourism publications, sightseeing tour programs, and local destinations; promotional activities, tourism promotion, product display OCOP etc.
