Many activities at Duong Quy Green Rice Festival attract locals and tourists

During 2 days (October 12-13), in Duong Quy commune, Van Ban district, many attractive cultural, artistic and sports activities took place, attracting the attention of many people and tourists from all over.

After the green rice is roasted, people fan it to dry it quickly before pounding it.

The green rice pounding contest during this year's festival features nine teams from nine villages in Duong Quy commune. The teams began harvesting rice early in the morning, selecting firm, plump rice for the tournament. Each team consists of five individuals who compete in the pounding of green rice to create aromatic, savory, colorful, and wonderfully presented dishes. The green rice production process was completed expertly and rapidly thanks to the members' skilled hands and harmonious teamwork, attracting a big number of tourists from all over the world.

The Com pounding competition is one of the highlight activities of the Duong Quy Com Festival in 2024. Through the competition, it contributes to honoring the cultural values and traditional crafts of the Tay ethnic group, contributing to preserving the customs and practices of local people, increasing the value of agricultural products, and increasing income for people.

Attending the Com festival, visitors can also experience and explore the cultural market with 30 booths displaying and selling unique agricultural products, clean agricultural products of farmers from cooperatives in the province such as: Com, black Chung cake, clean vegetables, medicinal herbs, brocade, clothing...
Through the program, it contributes to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities; it is an opportunity for localities to promote and introduce agricultural products, goods, promote trade, and attract investment in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the area.

Folk games are restored and organized at the festival to foster and promote patriotism, historical traditions, arouse national pride, and provide a useful playground for young people. The activities create a joyful and exciting atmosphere for every citizen and tourist.

On the evening of October 13, the Organizing Committee will close and award prizes to the competing teams.
