Tourists to Sa Pa increased by 33.2% compared to the National Day holiday on September 2, 2023

During the 4-day National Day holiday of September 2 (from August 31 to September 3), Lao Cai welcomed about 196,500 visitors. The number of tourists to localities increased slightly compared to the September 2, 2023 holiday, with Sa Pa town alone welcoming about 122,770 visitors, an increase of 33.2% compared to the September 2, 2023 holiday.

Fansipan attracts many tourists during holidays.

Specifically, during the recent holiday, domestic tourists reached more than 183,000 arrivals, international visitors reached more than 13,470 arrivals (an increase of 46.4% compared to the September 2, 2023 holiday). Overnight visitors were about 139,705 arrivals, same-day visitors were about 56,800 arrivals. Fansipan Sa Pa cable car alone welcomed more than 23,950 arrivals in the first 3 days of the holiday, Cat Cat tourist area welcomed 20,080 arrivals; community tourism spots welcomed over 19,000 arrivals; Lao Cai city welcomed about 73,200; Bat Xat district welcomed about 9,100 arrivals; Van Ban district welcomed about 8,200 arrivals; Bac Ha district welcomed about 14,300 arrivals; Bao Yen district welcomed about 12,050 arrivals...

Tourists explore Sa Pa.

Total revenue from tourists during the 4-day holiday reached about 606 billion VND, of which total revenue from international visitors reached about 48 billion VND and domestic visitors reached about 558 billion VND.

Tourist accommodation establishments have proactively welcomed guests in accordance with regulations. During the holidays, most accommodation establishments have strictly complied with the provisions of the law and service prices remain the same as usual, without any price increases or price gouging.

Food and beverage services do a good job of ensuring food hygiene and safety, so there were no cases of food poisoning or price increases or price gouging during the holidays. Tourist attractions proactively cleaned up and kept the environment clean, with no price increases.

The atmosphere welcoming National Day is bustling at tourist attractions in the province.

Security and order were well maintained, during the holiday there were no complaints to the hotline. Passenger transport activities were still operating normally, however during peak days there were still cases of price gouging for services (motorbike taxi, taxi, electric car).
