Commendation and reward for outstanding students in 2025

On the morning of May 28, the Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to honor and reward outstanding students of the 2024-2025 school year.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sinh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors; 500 outstanding students of the 2024-2025 school year, students with especially difficult circumstances.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Lao Cai education continues to maintain and achieve comprehensive and clear achievements in both lowland and highland areas.

Welcome performance.

The number and percentage of students with good conduct, fair and excellent academic performance; students winning prizes in competitions for excellent students in cultural subjects, scientific and technical research competitions , and art and sports competitions at all levels continue to achieve good results, becoming a bright spot in education in mountainous areas nationwide.

Specifically: The provincial-level secondary school excellent student exam had 782 students taking part, recognizing 515 students as winners; the provincial-level high school excellent student exam had 1,894 students taking part, recognizing 1,159 students and trainees as winners. Notably, at the 2025 national excellent student exam, Lao Cai had 71/100 students winning prizes (2 first prizes, 7 second prizes, 24 third prizes, 38 consolation prizes). This is also the first year that Lao Cai candidates won first prizes in Math and History in this exam. Nguyen Huy Phong, grade 11 IT major, Lao Cai High School for the Gifted, won the Bronze Medal at the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad.

In other playgrounds, Lao Cai students also shined with many achievements, such as: The 2025 National Scientific Research Competition won 3 prizes (2 Second prizes and 1 Third prize); at the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival, Lao Cai won 74 medals of all kinds, ranked 17th nationwide; won 3 individual and collective prizes in the 54th UPU International Letter Writing Competition, 2025; 9 students won the "Vietnamese Champion" award on the internet at the national level, including 2 First prizes, 1 Second prize, 6 Third prizes...

Ms. Duong Bich Nguyet, Director of the Provincial Department of Education and Training, spoke at the ceremony.

To honor students with outstanding achievements, this school year, the whole province has 2,336 students being commended and rewarded (276 students received Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training, Provincial People's Committee; 2,060 students received Certificates of Merit from the Director of the Department of Education and Training).

In particular, many students in mountainous areas, especially disadvantaged areas of the province, and students in especially difficult circumstances have strived to overcome difficulties and achieved high achievements in the fields of: study, arts, and sports.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sinh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, praised and congratulated the outstanding students, and highly appreciated the innovative efforts of the education and training sector in directing, managing and teaching with the goal of being practical and comprehensive, continuing to gradually improve the quality of education in the province.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that students will continue to make more efforts, constantly be creative, overcome difficulties, and live with ideals to become people with good health, courage, intelligence, and skills to adapt to the social environment and working environment in the new development period of the country.

Awarding students with outstanding achievements in the 2024 - 2025 school year.

At the ceremony, 39 students received Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training for their outstanding achievements in the national excellent student competition for the 2024-2025 school year; 262 students received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; nearly 200 outstanding students received Certificates of Merit from the Director of the Department of Education and Training. The Provincial Association for Promotion of Education also awarded 6 students with achievements in the National Science and Technology Research Competition for the 2024-2025 school year.
