Lao Cai: Impressive Artistic Performance Celebrating “The Epic of Aspiration to Reach New Heights”
On the evening of April 30, at 19/8 Square, Yen Bai Ward, Lao Cai Province, a grand art program themed "The Epic of Aspiration to Reach New Heights" was held to celebrate the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026) and International Labor Day (May 1).

Attending the program were Mr. Duong Quoc Huy - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Phan Dang Toan - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of Sa Pa Ward; Mr. An Hoang Linh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office; Mr. Vu Thi Hien Hanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of departments, agencies, the Fatherland Front and provincial organizations; leaders of communes and wards; and a large number of people and tourists.
The art program featured the participation of over 300 professional and amateur artists, performers, and artisans from the Lao Cai Provincial Center for Culture, Arts, and Sports; soldiers from the 355th Division; students from Nguyen Tat Thanh Specialized High School; and artisans from folk art clubs in the province's communes and wards. The program showcased many outstanding musical and dance performances, recreating the heroic spirit of the nation, honoring revolutionary traditions, and igniting pride in the homeland and the aspiration for development in Lao Cai in the new era.
The program was elaborately staged, highlighted by a magnificent stage setting and a modern sound and lighting system. The harmonious combination of LED screen effects, vivid illustrations, and emotionally rich commentary created a captivating artistic whole.
With the theme "The Epic of Aspiration to Reach New Heights" the program consisted of two main parts: Part 1 - "The Immortal Epic" recreated the historical journey of the national liberation struggle; Part 2 - "A Convergence of Colors" was a vibrant and diverse cultural tapestry of more than 30 ethnic groups in the province, featuring characteristic folk art performances, while also depicting the new rhythm of life and the strength of unity of the people of Lao Cai province in the new era.

The vibrant cultural tapestry of over 30 ethnic groups in the province, along with songs and dances recreating the history of the national liberation struggle, were elaborately staged and made a strong impression on viewers.
The artistic program concluded with a spectacular fireworks display celebrating the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, and the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day, illuminating the night sky of Lao Cai.
In addition to enjoying the art program on the main stage, folk clubs performed for the people and tourists in the area in front of the Provincial Convention Center and on the stage at Hao Gia Pedestrian Street, creating a vibrant artistic space where people and tourists can immerse themselves in the unique folk songs, dances, and music of various ethnic groups. This included the lively sounds of the Mong flute, the soulful sounds of the Tay zither, the sacred bell dance of the Dao people, the joyful shrimp-catching dance of the Cao Lan people, the unique dances of the Bo Y people, and the circle dance and bamboo pole dance of the Thai people, symbolizing unity and community bonding. All these elements blended together to create a colorful cultural tapestry, rich in identity, reflecting the rich spiritual life and aspirations of the ethnic groups of Lao Cai province.
