Change in the revolutionary countryside

“From a poor commune, Duong Quy has made a strong breakthrough, reaching a new rural standard. That is the result of the determination and consensus of many generations of officials and people in the commune ”- Mr. La Xuan Tham, Secretary of Party Committee of Duong Quy commune (Van Ban district) said.

Member of the Women's Union of Tong Phay village takes care of the flower route.

To prove his judgment, the Secretary of the Commune Party Committee took us to visit some villages in the commune. The road connecting the commune center to Tong Phay village running through the field is in new production. In the fields, people rushed to make land, cultivate winter maize, nurture each row of potatoes, and water the newly sprouted vegetable beds. Initially, this was a small, narrow inner field road, but with the donation of land and contributions to the people's workdays, the road was widened, concreted with a road surface width of 4.5 m. Now, not only motorcycles, but also cars and agricultural machines move smoothly. Thanks to boldly changing economic structure, applying scientific and technical advances to production, people's lives have been improved.

Taking advantage of the free days, the Women's Union of Tong Phay village together cleaned the village road, pulled weeds, planted extra flowers on both sides of the road to create a landscape. According to Ms. La Thi Hanh, Head of the Women's Union of Tong Phay village, the material and spiritual life of rural people in recent years has been greatly improved. Previously, people worked hard all year round, just enough to eat and wear. Now, life is better, there are no hungry households. Along with economic development, the spiritual life of the people is also concerned.

La Thi Hanh is only 40 years old this year, but she can tell her old stories as true "village elders" because she was born and raised in a family rich in revolutionary traditions, with ex-grandparents, grandparents, parents. warriors, join the resistance wars. From a young age, the hardships of war, economic recovery after the war or the renovation after the revolution, the ups and downs in the homeland are always reminded by the previous generation for the next generation. Ms. Hanh said: Every time I told about the days when there was a lack of food, but people still carried rice from Duong Quy fields around to serve the resistance, my mother and mother shed tears. Although I have not been able to go through an arduous war directly, I understand the value of independence and appreciate today's changes.

The rural appearance of Duong Quy commune is increasingly prosperous.

Duong Quy commune is considered the revolutionary hometown of Van Ban district with the relic of Duong Quy post - which marked a glorious time in the resistance war against the French colonialism. Promoting the revolutionary tradition, after the liberation of Van Ban district, the people of Duong Quy commune always strived to develop their economy, become the rear of food production and supply to many other localities. About the history of Duong Quy commune, Mr. La Xuan Tham, Secretary of the Commune Party Committee reviewed each milestone with the changes of land and people here. According to Tham, in the post-liberation period, Duong Quy commune as well as most other localities encountered many difficulties. Production with old crop varieties, lack of buffalos and cows for traction, irrigation systems have not been invested yet so productivity is low, farmers lack food, but a part of production still contributes to the resistance. In the period 1986 - 1991, household economy began to develop, people put new plant varieties into production. Since 1991, rural infrastructure has been invested, especially since Highway 279 was upgraded, paved with plastic, the connection and trade between Duong Quy and other communes is more convenient, people's lives are also better. lift up. By 2010, the food shortage in Duong Quy has basically been resolved and this is also a historical period, an important milestone of the commune with efforts to escape poverty, becoming a development commune of the district.

The period 2015 - 2020 is the most obvious period out of poverty in Duong Quy commune. Rural infrastructure is more invested, the people's economy develops through the application of scientific and technical advances, intensive farming, and crop increase in production. The commune's average rice yield is up to 75 quintals / ha / crop (about 20 quintals higher than the province's average yield). In addition to 2 rice crops, people produce an additional winter crop with high economic value vegetables and crops. Raising cattle and poultry has been expanded. Services, trade and construction have developed rapidly and strongly. Duong Quy commune has reached the standard of a new rural commune in 2019. Up to now, the average income per capita of the commune has reached 36 million VND / year. The rural appearance of Duong Quy is clearly flourishing. Most of the village roads, in-field roads and inter-country roads are covered with concrete. Many roads were lit up by electricity and flower routes were formed. People's houses have also been upgraded, newly built solidly and spaciously. There are no temporary houses in the commune.

Party Secretary La Xuan Tham emphasized: Promoting the revolutionary tradition and determination to overcome difficulties, Duong Quy commune has put on a new coat. That is the result of the determination of the Party Committee, authorities and the consensus of the people in the commune. Duong Quy commune has always paid attention to the education of revolutionary traditions for the young generation, focusing on education from family traditions so that each family becomes a nucleus, contributing to building the homeland. We wish to "pass fire" to the next generation to continue inheriting and promoting the good traditions of the previous generation, striving to build Duong Quy to develop.
