Developing a chain of production and consumption of key products in Lao Cai province in the period of 2021 - 2025

Striving to 2025, developing the chain of production and consumption of key products in Lao Cai province, contributing to raising the production value of key commodities to over VND 13,500 billion, accounting for 65% of the total agricultural production value - This is the goal set out in Plan No. 220/KH-UBND dated May 11, 2021 of the People's Committee of Lao Cai province in order to effectively implement Project No. 01-DA/TU on agricultural production, development of agriculture and forestry, population arrangement, new rural construction in Lao Cai province.

Lao Cai will build and operate 08 key product chain projects with close links between producers and processing businesses between 2021 and 2025, serving as the locomotive to promote agricultural product competitiveness of the province's key products associated with the requirements of the product consumption market and develop the domestic market toward export; at the same time, creating jobs and stable income for nearly 20,000 farmer households participating in key product production and consumption; organization to issue 100 new certificates of safe agricultural product supply chain.

Organize trade promotion activities, connect consumption of rice products of Lao Cai province.

In which there are 05 projects linking production and consumption of key crops such as tea, medicinal herbs, vegetables, fruit trees, and high quality rice; contributing to raising the production value of key crops to around VND 4,400 billion, accounting for more than 50% of the cropping industry's value and 21.3 percent of total agricultural production value; and the total number of enterprises is 02 projects linking production and consumption of key livestock, including cold-water aquatic products, pigs, and chickens; contributing to a VND 5,500 billion increase in production value of key livestock products, accounting for 84 percent of the livestock industry's value and 26.7 percent of total agricultural production value; 82 enterprises and cooperatives joined the association; 01 project on a cinnamon production and consumption chain, contributing to an increase in the production value of key commodities in the forestry sector to more than VND 3,400 billion, or 16.5 percent of total agricultural production value; with 13 businesses and cooperatives participating in the association.

100% of products produced in the chain are applied with advanced quality management systems such as VietGAP, LocalGAP, GACP, organic, etc., managed by a safe agricultural product traceability information system. Diversify models and quality of products manufactured in series by advanced processing technology to meet market requirements, especially export markets.

Chain projects linking the production and consumption of key agricultural products in Lao Cai province in the 2021 - 2025 period, contributing to the diversification of agricultural products and goods of high economic value; creating large-scale production areas, the province's key products can compete in the market; improving economic efficiency and added value for products towards sustainable production, bringing high income for producers and businesses; create close links between farmers, scientists, businesses, banks and managers; promote eco-tourism, leisure, create a sustainable agricultural industry with minimizing negative impacts on the environment and ensuring social benefits.../.
