Lao Cai ranks 32nd in terms of provincial digital transformation in 2020

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Lao Cai province ranked 32 out of 63 provinces and cities in terms of digital transformation in 2020.

However, with 3 main pillars of Digital Government, Digital Economy and Digital Society, the ranking position of Lao Cai province has changed markedly. Ranking Digital Government, Lao Cai province ranks 12th, Lao Cai Digital Economy ranks 45th and Lao Cai Digital Society ranks 40th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

The provincial digital transformation index 2020 includes 03 pillars: Digital Government; Digital Economy; Digital Society, with the total of 108 component indexes and 306 criteria (57 criteria were conducted to survey people, businesses, and civil servants). Each pillar has 07 main indicators and corresponding sub-indexes and criteria, specifically: Digital Government has 45 sub-indices and 133 criteria; Digital Economy has 2 component indexes and 101 criteria; Digital Society has 27 component indexes and 72 criteria.

2020 is the first year that the Ministry of Information and Communications evaluates the digital transformation index of ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government and provinces and centrally cities. This is also the first time that the Ministry of Information and Communications has surveyed, collected, and checked reported data to serve the assessment of the digital conversion index through online form at the website https://dti.gov.vn./.
