Lao Cai deploys additional injections and booster vaccinations against COVID-19 in the province

With the goal of forming a safe community for socio-economic development, starting from December 15, 2021, Lao Cai has implemented additional injections and booster vaccinations against COVID-19 throughout the province.

Vaccinate against Covid-19 for the health of yourself and the community

Subjects receiving an additional dose of COVID-19 vaccine are 18 years of age or older, priority is given to people aged 50 years and older who have received the full basic dose (two doses of the vaccine have been administered) and are in poor condition moderate and severe immunodeficiency such as organ transplant recipients, cancer patients, HIV, currently receiving immunosuppressive drugs or have been treated within 6 months… Vaccine type: Same with basic dose or mRNA vaccine. Interval: Give 1 additional dose after the last dose of the basic dose at least 28 days if there is enough vaccine.

Subjects receiving a booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine are people aged 18 years or older who have received the full basic dose or supplementary dose, priority is given to people with underlying medical conditions who need long-term care at medical facilities , people aged 50 and over, people who directly test, care for and treat COVID-19 patients, medical staff. Type of vaccine: If the primary or supplementary injections are of the same vaccine, a booster of the same or mRNA vaccine; if previously vaccinated with different vaccines, give booster dose with mRNA vaccine. If the basic or additional dose is a vaccine from Sinopharm, a booster shot of the same type or an mRNA vaccine or a viral vector vaccine (Astrazeneca vaccine) can be given. Interval: 1 booster dose at least 6 months after the last dose of the basic or supplementary dose.

People in any locality can inject at the injection sites of that locality, except for workers in industrial zones, students in schools outside the province or district who can inject at work and study places. Deploying vaccination points and organizing vaccination sessions in a synchronous manner, fully meeting the requirements for human resources, equipment, and vaccination safety, and at the same time ensuring the prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Lao Cai Province strives that 95% of people aged 18 years or older who have had the full basic dose will be given additional and booster doses; 100% of cases of adverse events after vaccination against COVID-19 during the monitoring period at the vaccination facility (30 minutes after injection) were detected and treated promptly; 100% of vaccinated people are instructed and know how to self-monitor and detect abnormal signs after vaccination.
