Cooperation to promote tourism development

After more than 2 years of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, tourism activities have been reopened and showed signs of improvement, and the localities have also begun on stimulating demand, organizing many events to attract tourists. Connecting and joining hands to restore tourism is the requirement at the present time to promote tourism to recover quickly and develop sustainably.
People's Committee of Sa Pa Town and Fansipan Cable Car Travel Service Company Limited signed the cooperation agreement to develop tourism

In fact, cooperation is an inevitable trend for fast and sustainable development in all fields, and tourism cannot be out of that trend. In previous years, the tourism program "Back to the roots" with spiritual tours along the Red River became a model for inter-regional tourism development, promoting tourism in the three provinces of Lao Cai, Yen Bai and Phu Tho. Inter-tourism programs in 8 Northwestern provinces and extended 8 Northwest provinces to connect with tourist centers such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are also highly appreciated and effective, in which Lao Cai always known as the hub of connectivity. The cooperation to develop inter-regional tourism has contributed to promoting tourism in Lao Cai province in particular and the participating localities in general to develop rapidly in the period of 2016 - 2019.

Assessing the position and role of Lao Cai in the inter-regional tourism development cooperation, the GREAT project's tourism planning and research experts have pointed out that Lao Cai is located at the entry point to Vietnam in the economic corridor of Kunming - Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh, convenient in linking tourism development with the region and the world. Lao Cai tourism in the period of 2016 - 2019 has grown tremendously partly due to good regional linkages.

Mr.Ha Van Thang, Director of the Department of Tourism affirmed: It is true to the famous quote: "If you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together", Lao Cai has never wanted to develop tourism alone, but always expect the localities to cooperate for sustainable development. Lao Cai actively participates in maintaining and improving the quality of cooperation with the localities. Cooperation for mutual development is even more important in the context that tourism has a positive signal after a long time being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The cooperation helps Lao Cai tourism develop quickly and sustainably.

With the desire of all the localities to act together, Lao Cai tourism industry is promoting the reconnection and expansion of previously established tourism development links, such as exploiting various types of high-class mountain resort, sea tourism with major domestic tourist centers (Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa, Quang Ninh...); continuing to promote the cooperation program of extended 8 Northwestern provinces to exploit the Northwest arc tourism route. Cooperating with Luang Prabang city (Laos), Chiang Mai (Thailand) to develop specialized tourism products. Reconnecting tourism development cooperation with Yunnan province (China) to effectively exploit the model tour product "Two countries, six destinations" and the International Cycling Tournament "One racetrack - two countries"; continuing to sign and implement tourism development cooperation with Novelle Aquitaine region - French Republic...

“Lao Cai will continue to promote its role of bridging and transiting tourists, creating complementarity and support between the localities to promote sustainable tourism development. We expect the localities to actively and seriously participate in inter-regional linkages to build high quality tours and tourist routes, well serve the needs of tourists and together recover, develop quickly and sustainably." said Mr. Ha Van Thang.

In addition to inter-regional tourism development cooperation, Lao Cai province also works with many large domestic travel and tourism business units to promote cooperation in connecting tour routes, attracting tourists to Lao Cai. The most recent example is the signing of cooperation agreement on tourism product development and promotion and advertising between the People's Committee of Sa Pa town and Fansipan Sapa Cable Car Service & Tourism Limited Liability Company.

The localities in the province also strengthen cooperate to reduce visiting load for key tourist areas and reduce the gap in tourism development between the localities in the province.

With the sustainable tourism development strategy, appreciation of importance of inter-regional and intra-provincial links, and continuously implementing specific and practical solutions, Lao Cai tourism will surely recover quickly and develop sustainably in the coming period.
