Lao Cai strives for 90% of communes to meet new rural standards by 2030

Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee has just issued the Action Program to implement Resolution No. 19 of the 13th Party Central Committee on agriculture, farmers and rural areas until 2030, with a vision to 2045 in Lao Cai province.

Accordingly, by 2030, Lao Cai strives for the average growth rate of production value to reach over 6%/year; agricultural production value is estimated at 16,000 billion Vietnamese dong; increase the average agricultural labor productivity from 5.5 - 6%/year; the production value of key commodities accounts for about 65% of the total production value of the agricultural sector; the number of communes meeting the new rural standard is 115, accounting for 90%, of which 50% of the communes meeting the newly enhanced rural standard; the number of district-level units meeting the new rural standards reaches over 70%, of which gradually 03 district-level units will reach the newly-advanced rural standards.

The percentage of rural households using hygienic water is 100%, of which the percentage of rural households using standard clean water is over 80%. The average income of rural people in 2023 will increase by 2.5-3 times compared to 2020. The average poverty reduction rate according to multidimensional standards is 2-3%/year.

The rate of rural daily-life solid waste collected and treated according to regulations is over 95%. The forest cover rate of over 60%, forestry production and forest economy develop in a sustainable way is maintained.

The proportion of agricultural laborers in the total number of social workers is less than 20%; on average, annually provide vocational training for about 18,000 rural workers.

By 2045, ecological agriculture, large-scale production of goods with high added value, closely linked with domestic and export markets; modern agricultural product processing and preservation industry. Farmers and rural residents are civilized, comprehensively developed, and have high incomes. The countryside is gradually modernized, with living conditions close to urban areas, a green, clean and beautiful living environment, building a rural cultural lifestyle rich in national identity; national defense, security, social order and safety are firmly guaranteed.
