Building a growing association

Lao Cai youth are active in responding to climate change.

In 1995, the Vietnam Youth Union's Campaign Committee at the provincial level was launched and put into operation. By 1996, the association had been established in all localities. In 1997, the Vietnam Youth Union of the province established 15 branches and 150 members in Cam Con commune (Bao Yen district). In 1998, the 1st Congress of Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union (term 1998-2003) took place solemnly in Lao Cai town.

Currently, the Vietnam Youth Union of the province has 5 member organizations, namely Hope Volunteer Club, Luong Dinh Cua Club, Pickup Truck Club, Startup Club, Movement Football Club and Club 9 Committees of Youth Unions of districts, towns and cities. The Provincial Youth Union is being built and developed day by day, when campaigning for the establishment, there are only more than 28,600 members, up to now there have been 97,110 members, living in 3,015 branches, clubs, groups, and teams.

During the past half term, the movements and action plans of the association have been widely implemented, bringing about practical effects. The movement "I love my fatherland" is actively propagated by Youth Union Committees at all levels on social networking platforms, Youth Newsletter and Provincial Youth Union website, helping officials, members and young people to exchange, express opinions, views and feelings on issues of the homeland and the country, contributing to better orientation of awareness and action for members and youth. Associations at all levels actively propagate, educate, uphold the spirit of patriotism, bravery, ready to fight to protect sovereignty, borders, sea and islands, for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people. At the same time, mobilize young people to participate in activities to build the all-people national defense and the people's security posture; participate in building and improving the quality and effectiveness of activities of youth security, militia and self-defense groups.

Associations at all levels have organized 278 activities "Drink water, remember the source", "Gratitude, return gratitude", visit, give gifts, take care of Vietnamese heroic mothers and policy families. The campaign "Youths live a beautiful life - a useful life" creates a strong change in the awareness and actions of members and young people. Associations at all levels have actively implemented the project "Lao Cai youth participation in building new rural areas and sustainable poverty reduction", "Starting a business", "Creative youth" programs. Thereby, youth members in the province proposed 13,215 creative ideas, nearly 200 initiatives, improved the application of science and technology, contributing to improving productivity, quality and product value.

Regular and on-site volunteer activities continue to play a key role in implementing the association's movement, such as the winter-spring volunteer program, Youth Month, Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, organizing 300 youth volunteer team on site, nearly 1,500 volunteer youth teams on duty to participate.
