Mr. Phan Van Tuoi, Secretary of the Party Cell of Y Giang village (in the left of the photo) regularly propagates and mobilizes villagers to actively work, produce, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty.

During the days when the circulation of the storm no. 3 was sweeping through the province (September 2024), Secretary of the Y Giang village Party Cell - Phan Van Tuoi (A Mu Sung commune, Bat Xat district) promoted his sense of responsibility and actively mobilized local people to move to safe shelters. Mr. Tuoi said that at that time, through inspection, Y Giang village had 45 households in the area at high risk of landslides, threatening property and life. After receiving notice from the local authorities, Mr. Tuoi, along with the village head and organizations, went to each household to propagate and mobilize residents to evacuate. However, there were still some households who underestimated the issue as they only thought it would be light rain like previous years. Facing this situation, Mr. Tuoi directed the working group to make a record of the incident, and at the same time persistently mobilized, explained, and even invited prestigious elders in the village to participate in the mobilization.

“By using both strong measures and friendly encouragement and explanations, all households finally listened and complied with the move. Luckily, the last household, Mr. Tan Lao U’s family, had moved for about only 5 minutes before the landslide buried their house and property. If we had hesitated a little longer, the consequences would have been unpredictable,” said Party Cell Secretary Phan Van Tuoi.

In addition, joining hands to help people affected by floods, Mr. Tuoi called on 6 charity groups to donate 400 gifts and more than 300 million VND to distribute to affected households in Y Giang and Ngai Tro villages. Notably, when the volunteer groups came to support people due to landslides, Mr. Tuoi arranged for members to eat and stay for free at his house so that they could continue to go to the inner communes - where affected households were waiting for relief. At the same time, he mobilized people in the village to help search for a victim in Ngai Tro village who was buried by landslides.

In addition to his high responsibility for work, the Party Secretary of Y Giang village - Mr. Phan Van Tuoi also actively takes the lead in economic development. In 2017, he boldly took on planting 6.4 hectares of high-quality tea, and in 2020 took over 3 hectares of Shan snow tea from some households that were left fallow. He also invested in tea roasting and processing machines, purchased fresh tea buds for people and created many jobs for local laborers.

“As a Party member, I must have a sense of responsibility, be a role model, take the lead, and benefit people as Uncle Ho taught.”

From a hill of corn and weeds, young Party member Cu Seo Gia (orange T-shirt) has transformed it into a flower hill to develop tourism.

Taking us to visit the eye-catching flower hill in full bloom, which was properly planned and taken care of, Mr. Gia said that this land was previously used for corn cultivating and wild plants self-growing. Realizing the increasing tourism demand of people, especially local people, in early 2024, he decided to switch to growing flowers to develop tourism. Overcoming initial difficulties in land improvement and lack of capital, Mr. Gia managed the case and his flower hill has now basically taken shape and is known by many tourists inside and outside the province. From 2024 to now, Mr. Gia's "Love Mountain" flower hill has welcomed about 3,000 visitors to visit and take photos. He plans to continue expanding the flower growing area and build more food service areas to meet the needs of tourists.

More than ever, studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style needs to continue to be maintained, innovated and widely spread throughout society. Every person, regardless of position or occupation, can become a role model of learning from Uncle Ho if they know how to live and act for the community and the country. It is the most practical way to contribute to building a rich, civilized and affectionate Vietnam as Uncle Ho always aspired.
