The Fatherland is strong from the sea
As soon as we arrived at Truong Sa - the sacred flesh and blood of the Fatherland, we visited the Traditional House on the island. Standing before the words of the heroic martyr - Lieutenant Tran Van Phuong, who sacrificed himself on Gac Ma island in the event on March 14, 1988: "I would rather sacrifice than lose the island. Let my blood color the traditional flag of the Navy", we could not help but be moved with pride.Immersing myself in historical stories at the Traditional House, I seem to see more clearly the shape of the Fatherland from the sea.

Reporters working in Truong Sa took souvenir photos at the landmark on the island.
The first morning we set foot on Truong Sa Island, all of us reporters wore shirts with the red flag with a yellow star printed on it. Some of us carried the national flag and stood taking pictures under the sovereignty marker in the center of the island. At that moment, standing under the marker on the remote island, I felt my heart stop, and my heart was filled with indescribable emotions. Some reporters even held the national flag and ran along the spacious runway in the middle of the island, happy as a child.

Soldiers learnt about the history of fighting to protect the sea and islands at the Truong Sa Island Traditional House.
Here, amidst the vast wind and the roaring waves, I seem to hear the echo of the sea whispering about the heroic song of the islanders, about the Vietnamese Navy soldiers who were quick, bold, and unexpected, seizing the opportunity to attack and liberate the islands of the Truong Sa archipelago 50 years ago. The golden history still records that in the early morning of April 14, 1975, the forces of the Navy Special Forces Team 1 and a part of the special forces of Military Region 5 secretly approached Song Tu Tay island and liberated the island after 30 minutes of fighting. After that, the islands of Son Ca, Sinh Ton, Truong Sa, Nam Yet... and the entire Truong Sa archipelago were liberated on April 29, 1975. This glorious feat has become a historical milestone, contributing greatly to the complete and great victory of the nation in the Great Spring Victory of 1975.
With more respect for the sacrifices of previous generations to achieve independence, freedom and happiness like today, each of us reporters feels more responsible to live better, contribute more, and contribute to building our homeland and country to become more prosperous and beautiful.
As for the officers and soldiers on Truong Sa island, through the stories and examples of the heroic fighting spirit to protect the sea and islands of their fathers and brothers, they feel even more honored and proud. The beautiful historical tradition continues to be written and made more brilliant by the soldiers of the island today, becoming the motivation to strive to complete the assigned tasks. As affirmed by Lieutenant Colonel Pham Tien Diep, Political Commissar of Truong Sa island: Each officer and soldier when performing the task at the forefront of the wind and waves has the highest determination, overcoming all difficulties and challenges to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Truong Sa Island after 50 years of liberation.
50 years after the liberation day, the army and people on Truong Sa archipelago today continue to preserve the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland, together building the island district to become more and more prosperous as President Ho Chi Minh taught the Navy on March 15, 1961: “In the past, we only had night and forest. Today, we have day, sky, and sea. Our coastline is long and beautiful, we must know how to preserve it…”.
Coming to the outpost archipelago, amidst difficulties and challenges, we clearly feel that there is a Truong Sa with a strong vitality that is growing strong, where people and nature blend together. Flowers have bloomed, sweet fruits have been formed in the salty sea, a testament to the creative spirit and hard work of the army and people on the Truong Sa archipelago. Together, we build the sacred archipelago to be not only strong in defense but also good in lifestyle, beautiful in landscape and environment, exemplary in military-civilian solidarity, contributing to the successful implementation of the task of firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Soldiers patrol, guard and protect the island.
Working on Da Dong A Island, talking to Major Dao Quoc Tuan, the island's Commander, he said: We always strictly maintain training and combat readiness, patrolling and guarding to protect the safety of assigned targets, especially at night and in bad weather. Through annual evaluations, the training results are all good and excellent; the officers and soldiers are all steadfast in their will, actively completing their tasks, and building the island stronger and stronger.

Soldiers always hold their guns firmly to protect the sovereignty of the sacred sea and islands.
Not only Dong A Island but also the islands and island points in Truong Sa archipelago have successfully completed the task of protecting every inch of the island and sea of the Fatherland, building towering fortresses in the middle of the ocean, as a firm declaration of the nation's sovereignty.
Building a solid position on a remote island is one of the conditions for firmly protecting the Fatherland early and from afar. In that, each island soldier is truly a fortress in the middle of the ocean.
