Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Viet Hung held a bilateral meeting with Yunnan Provincial Party Secretary (China)

Within the framework of the 5th annual conference between the Provincial Party Secretaries of Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Tuyen Quang, Dien Bien (Vietnam) and the Provincial Party Secretary of Yunnan (China) taking place in Lai Chau province, on the afternoon of October 29, Mr. Trinh Viet Hung - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Vuong Ninh - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of Yunnan province.

 

Attending the meeting on behalf of the Lao Cai provincial delegation were Mr. Pham Toan Thang - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee; Mr. Duong Duc Huy - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sinh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Provincial Party Committee Office.

On the side of Yunnan province (China), there were Mr. Liu Yong - Deputy Governor of Yunnan province; Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam and leaders of agencies, departments and localities of Yunnan province.

Speaking at the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Trinh Viet Hung affirmed: Lao Cai (Vietnam) and Yunnan (China) are two localities with a close, traditional friendship and have had many comprehensive cooperation activities in all fields, bringing practical benefits to the two localities and the people of the two provinces.

Mr. Trinh Viet Hung - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Lao Cai province spoke at the meeting.

The Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council said: To realize the goal of building Lao Cai into a growth pole, a center for economic and trade connections between Vietnam, ASEAN and the Southwest region of China, Lao Cai province is focusing on implementing many large projects, strongly developing strategic transport infrastructure. In particular, the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong Railway project will create a strong development and cooperation push for the two provinces and two countries with the starting point at the cross-border rail connection between the new Lao Cai Station and Hekou Station (China).

Mr. Wang Ning - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of Yunnan province spoke at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Vuong Ninh - Secretary of Yunnan Provincial Party Committee warmly congratulated the success of the First Lao Cai Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030; congratulated Mr. Trinh Viet Hung on being trusted by the Politburo of Vietnam to assign and appoint him to hold the position of Provincial Party Secretary.

Affirming the achievements in cooperation between the two provinces in recent times, Mr. Vuong Ninh - Secretary of Yunnan Provincial Party Committee also proposed that the two provinces strengthen coordination to promote the implementation of important cooperation projects such as the road bridge across the Red River, the Lao Cai - Ha Khau - Hanoi - Hai Phong standard gauge railway; research on building smart border gates and the Lao Cai - Yunnan cross-border economic cooperation zone.

Mr. Vuong Ninh expressed his belief that with the solid foundation, strategic vision and wise leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, headed by Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Viet Hung, Lao Cai province will continue to have strong development, actively contribute to the common prosperity of the region, and build the cooperative relationship between Lao Cai and Yunnan into a model of international bilateral cooperation.
