Opening Ceremony of the Sa Pa Summer Festival 2026

On the evening of April 29th, the Sa Pa Summer Festival 2026 officially opened at the center of the Sa Pa National Tourist Area (Lao Cai). The event took place in an atmosphere celebrating major national holidays and was also a highlight in the series of activities to stimulate and promote tourism in Lao Cai province.

 

Attending the opening ceremony were: Mr. Nguyen Huu Van - Former Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, former Auditor General of the State Audit Office, former Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Hoang Giang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; former provincial leaders and representatives of provincial departments and agencies, along with a large number of domestic and international tourists.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Toan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Sa Pa Ward, emphasized: "The summer festival is not only an opportunity to celebrate the natural beauty and people of Sa Pa, but also opens up a space for cultural exchange and connection between regions, attracting tourists to explore and experience. Through the festival, we hope to spread traditional cultural values, while simultaneously arousing pride and aspirations for sustainable tourism development in the locality."

Sa Pa celebrated the grand opening of the 2026 Summer Festival, marking 10 years of promoting tourism in the Northwest highlands.

According to Vice Chairman Nguyen Phuoc Toan, Sa Pa is steadfast in its tourism development orientation towards "green - sustainable - high quality," linked with preserving traditional cultural values and improving the lives of the people. Through the rich series of festival events, Sa Pa hopes to bring unique experiences to tourists, while spreading the image of a friendly, safe, and hospitable destination.

Following the opening remarks was the elaborately staged art program "Sa Pa - Land of Love," directed by the People's Committee of Lao Cai province, organized by the People's Committee of Sa Pa ward, in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Center for Culture, Arts and Sports of Lao Cai province. The art night brought together many famous artists such as Trong Tan, Vo Ha Tram, Minh Quan, Thu Thuy, Phuong Anh... along with artisans and actors from ethnic art troupes.

The opening performance, "Singing on the Hoang Lien Peak - Wandering with Sa Pa," created a musical atmosphere steeped in the spirit of the mountains and forests, recreating the majestic natural beauty and rich cultural life of the ethnic communities in the region.

Many outstanding cultural performances were presented at the opening night of the Sa Pa Summer Festival 2026.

The musical "party" created a vibrant atmosphere with many youthful and modern songs such as "Vietnam in a New Day," "The Most Beautiful Summer," and "Shining Dreams"... The performances were elaborately staged, harmoniously combining music and dance, tradition and modernity, creating a continuous artistic flow that connects the past, present, and future.

The highlight of the opening night was a spectacular low-altitude fireworks display, illuminating the Sa Pa sky to the excitement of thousands of spectators. The shimmering fireworks provided an impressive visual experience, ushering in a vibrant summer tourism season.

Thousands of spectators, including locals, domestic and international tourists, gathered at Quan Square to attend the Sa Pa Summer Festival 2026.

The Sa Pa Summer Festival 2026 is a practical activity to celebrate major national holidays such as the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026); and the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2026), contributing to fostering a spirit of solidarity and national pride.

The festival will feature many unique cultural, artistic, and tourism activities throughout the summer, promising visitors exciting experiences when coming to Sa Pa.
