Lao Cai opens International Tourism Fair 2025: Connecting green aspirations

On the evening of June 5, the Lao Cai International Tourism Fair 2025 with the theme "Connecting Green Aspirations" was held for the first time in Lao Cai city. The event is not only an opportunity to introduce Lao Cai's tourism potential but also a testament to the green, sustainable development strategy with a vision of deep international integration.

The ceremony was honored to welcome many important delegates, including: Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Pham Van Thuy; Consulate General of Vietnam in Kunming (Yunnan - China) Hoang Minh Son; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Lao Cai Province Vu Xuan Cuong; Deputy Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee Hoang Giang; Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Lao Cai International Tourism Fair 2025 Hoang Quoc Khanh; Vice Chairman of the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee Vu Thi Hien Hanh; Standing members of the People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, and businesses and partners inside and outside the province.

Many international delegates attended the Lao Cai International Tourism Fair 2025.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of Lao Cai International Tourism Fair 2025 Hoang Quoc Khanh emphasized: In the context of globalization, climate change and fierce competition among destinations, Lao Cai is determined to pursue the direction of developing green and sustainable tourism. The fair promises to open up opportunities for investors, businesses operating in the field of tourism services, travel agencies, destinations, etc. to find partners, sign contracts, in order to promote the increase in the number of visitors to Lao Cai in the future. On the other hand, the fair is also a good opportunity to introduce and promote the potential, strengths, beauty of the landscape, culture, country, and people of Lao Cai to the people and domestic and international tourists; contributing to promoting the smokeless industry of the province and Vietnam in the process of integration and sustainable development.

Also at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Van Thuy - Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration highly appreciated the efforts of Lao Cai province in organizing a strategic fair with large scale and influence. He affirmed that this is a valuable opportunity to widely promote the image and tourism products of Lao Cai and other localities to domestic and international friends. The Vietnam National Tourism Administration is committed to continuing to accompany and support Lao Cai in the process of promoting, advertising and developing local tourism, especially in mobilizing the role of businesses and organizations in this field.

The fair will take place from June 5 to 8, with the theme “Lao Cai Tourism – Connecting Green Aspirations”. This message demonstrates Lao Cai’s determination to develop tourism in a sustainable manner, emphasizing values such as: Protecting the natural environment, limiting negative impacts from humans, promoting the use of clean energy and renewable resources, developing community tourism, enhancing cooperation between the State, businesses, people and tourists, and preserving traditional cultural values. The fair is also an opportunity for Lao Cai to strengthen connections with provinces in the Northwest region, major tourist centers nationwide and internationally.

This year’s event gathered 130 booths from domestic and foreign enterprises. The highlight was the survey program (farmtrip) with the participation of 120 international travel companies from more than 10 countries and territories – major tourist markets to Lao Cai such as China, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, India, Australia, France, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia. In addition, the fair also had the presence of more than 40 domestic and international promotion and communication organizations.

This is a key cultural and tourism activity not only of Lao Cai province but also of the entire Northwest region, affirming its role as a hub for economic connection, cultural exchange and a center for promoting cooperation in the East-West economic corridor, the Northeast economic belt of Vietnam and the region.

Lao Cai International Tourism Fair 2025 is an opportunity for tourism service businesses to introduce tourism products, services and industries, promoting the tourism market.
