Outstanding performance of Sinh Tien stick dance by 600 students in Bac Ha

On the morning of June 7, within the framework of the Bac Ha White Plateau Festival with the theme "Captivating Highland Horse Racing" in 2025, a mass performance of the Sinh Tien stick dance took place at the district stadium, with the participation of 600 local students, creating a heartwarming impression on local people and tourists.

Tien stick dance, also known as Sinh Tien stick dance, is a dance of the Mong ethnic group that is imbued with martial arts and diverse movements; it is developed from the ancient dance with 18 weapons of the Mong people. The dance often takes place during Khao Quan and Gau Tao festivals and important rituals in daily life.

The colorful traditional costumes of the Mong people combined with the graceful movements of the Sinh Tien dance have created a heartwarming impression on tourists.

The Sinh Tien stick dance has been practiced by Bac Ha district in schools, clubs, art troupes and performed at traditional festivals. At the same time, the province proposed the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to register the dance as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
