Solemn folk ritual of the Upper Temple
On the afternoon of March 2nd (the 14th day of the first lunar month), the folk ritual of the Thuong Temple took place in the main courtyard of the Thuong Temple. This meaningful activity is part of the Thuong Temple Spring Festival 2026 - commemorating 10 years of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The ceremony was organized by the People's Committee of Lao Cai Ward with solemn rituals to express respect and gratitude for the contributions of the national hero, Grand Marshal Tran Quoc Tuan (Hung Dao Dai Vuong).

Attending the ceremony were members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and People's Council, leaders of the People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai ward; leaders of several communes and wards; specialized departments and agencies; and a large number of local people and tourists from all over.
At the main courtyard of the Upper Temple, in front of the shrine dedicated to the National Hero Tran Quoc Tuan (Hung Dao Dai Vuong), a solemn incense offering ceremony was held according to ancient traditions.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Nhat, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lao Cai Ward, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Thuong Temple Festival, and chief officiant, performed the incense offering ritual.
Afterward, the ceremonial team from Lao Cai ward performed the traditional, solemn rituals.




The ceremonial rituals were solemn.
Following the ceremony, delegates, local people, and visitors from all over offered incense to commemorate the contributions of the national hero, hoping for a year of favorable weather, good health, and happiness.
Over the years, the folk ritual of offering incense at the Upper Temple on the 14th day of the first lunar month has become a beautiful and unique cultural feature, an indispensable part of the ethnic communities in Lao Cai ward. This is an opportunity for the people and visitors to remember and express gratitude for the merits of their ancestors, to recall the glorious history of their homeland and country, to strengthen community cohesion, to awaken a sense of self-respect and national pride, and to affirm and reinforce the determination to build and protect the nation.
