According to Mr. Honna Hitoshi, Chairman and CEO of Erex Corporation (Japan), the company is currently investing in two projects in Lao Cai province. One of these is the Erex Sakura Yen Bai Biomass Fuel Plant project in the Bac Van Yen Industrial Cluster, Dong Cuong commune, which commenced in 2023 with a total investment of over 500 billion VND, aiming to produce biomass pellets and wood chips for export.

Currently, the project is facing difficulties with land clearance. The company requests that the province should consider adjusting the investment plan, changing the production objective from wood pellets to wood chips for power plants.

The Yen Bai 1 Biomass Power Plant project is also being implemented in the Bac Van Yen Industrial Cluster, Dong Cuong commune, with a total investment of nearly 3,000 billion VND. The project was granted its initial Investment Registration Certificate on May 6, 2024, with the goal of building a biomass power plant connected to the national power grid.

The unit requested that the province provide guidance on the mechanism for receiving incentives for investment projects in particularly difficult areas; review the policy of investing in a centralized wastewater treatment plant in the industrial cluster; and promptly approve the feasibility study report so that the enterprise can proceed with the next steps to build the factory.

In addition, the company requested that relevant units provide support and coordination in land clearance work to facilitate the construction of the power plant and the 110 kV transmission line passing through the two communes of Dong Cuong and Mau A.

The Provincial Party Secretary affirmed that Lao Cai province has always considered "Enterprises as the driving force - the State as the support." The province is committed to listening, engaging in dialogue, and promptly and thoroughly resolving the requests of enterprises, aiming to build a transparent, open, efficient, and sustainable investment environment.
