From the main road, you have to go through a cornfield of the locals, then you can easily see the very wide cave entrance outside. Inside of it is a narrow gap leading into the cave.

About 10 meters into the cave, you can see many large and beautiful stalactites crafted by nature. Despite the hot and sunny weather outside, the cave is very cool.

The cave is divided into 4 main sections naturally separated by rock walls. Each section has many nooks, crannies and stalactites. The end of the cave is only about 2 meters wide, enough for only 1 person to crawl through.

Goc Gang Cave is a dry cave, but inside it, there is still a stream of water filtered from the rocky mountain that drips down, continuing to form new stalactites.

At the entrance of the cave, there are many weathered mountain snail shells. In 2019, a survey team from Lao Cai Provincial Museum coordinated with the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology to dig an exploratory pit, thereby discovering hundreds of pieces of mountain snails and some pieces of iron. According to the conclusion of the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the artifacts found show that the cave is likely to be a place of residence for ancient people.

Currently, Goc Gang Cave is being prepared by Lao Cai Provincial Museum to be proposed to the Provincial People's Committee so that they may recognize it as a provincial-level scenic relic. This aims at facilitating the management, protection and promotion of the relic's value, associated with local tourism development.
