These days, when visiting localities in Lao Cai province, it is easy to encounter images of clean and beautiful residential areas, no environmental pollution, and roads to alleys brilliant with flowers. That freshness is thanks to the devoted care and nurturing of women. Beds of moss roses, peonies, crape myrtles, Mexican petunias, etc. are neatly trimmed, interlaced with green bushes, creating a living space that is fresh and full of vitality.

The movement of planting and caring for these flower roads is actively responded to by many Associations throughout the province, of which, the Women's Union of Mau A commune is one of the typical examples.

From 2021 to now, the association has mobilized cadres and members to contribute money and working days to implement 21 flower road sections, 34 "Lighting up countryside roads" electric lines with a total cost of over 400 million VND.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu - Chairwoman of Mau A Commune Women's Union, said: Looking at the blooming flower roads, brilliant colors embracing the road, everyone feels the new vitality of the village. Each flower bed, each green bush is meticulously cared for by members, bringing a green - clean - beautiful landscape that creates joy for people passing by. From these efforts, the Mau A community has together preserved the environment, raised awareness about the role of landscape in life.

Not only Mau A commune, from 2021 to now, Women's Union levels throughout the province have implemented more than 200 "bright - green - clean - beautiful" roads, flower roads, flag and flower roads. Along with that, towards the goal of protecting the environment, improving the quality of life for members, the Provincial Women's Union has actively implemented the Campaign "Building family of 5 no and 3 clean" by issuing guiding documents, launching practical movements suitable to local practical conditions, including: "Lao Cai women join forces to build new rural areas", "Women join hands to collect and treat domestic waste", "Women join hands to plant trees, create forests, build bright - green - clean - beautiful landscapes and environments".

Women's Union at all levels also organized to undertake over 2,640 construction works and tasks, helping nearly 7,800 households achieve 8 criteria of "5 have, 3 clean", attaching more than 1,800 signs of "Clean house, beautiful garden" club models. Specially, Association levels organized thousands of propaganda sessions linking the Campaign "Building family of 5 no, 3 clean" with environmental protection, natural disaster prevention, climate change response; organized over 50 training classes, communication conferences, and 2 pilot models "Family of 5 have, 3 clean" at advanced new rural communes to draw experience and replication.

Many practical construction works and tasks implemented by women's unions at all levels contribute to changing the appearance of localities.

Thanks to these, they raises awareness and responsibility of members and women about the important role of preserving the environment, arousing the spirit of responsibility, community consciousness, and pride in the living environment in each family and residential area. At the same time, they make deep and wide diffusion, changing rural appearance, forming "bright - green - clean - beautiful" residential areas, improving the quality of life of the People, etc.

Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Huyen, member of Women's Branch of Vang village, Gia Phu commune said: Being propagandized, I clearly understand the importance of environmental protection. Keeping houses, village roads, and alleys clean and beautiful not only helps my family's life become convenient and safe but also contributes to making the whole community "bright - green - clean - beautiful". Therefore, members in the village and I always voluntarily participate in activities of planting flowers, caring for trees, cleaning up to keep hygiene, contributing efforts together with the Association to conduct models in the locality.

It can be seen that, from seemingly small but full of meaning actions, Lao Cai women have been accompanying, joining hands to build the community, creating strong diffusion and contributing to forming a civilized lifestyle, "bright - green - clean - beautiful" environment that enhances the life quality of people. This, thereby, becomes a sustainable driving force for rural and urban development, as well as building Lao Cai province increasingly civilized, modern, and environmentally friendly.
