Many activities at the Northeast Ha Winter Festival 2020

On November 21, in Bac Ha town, Food Competition and Khèn Mong Competition took place. These are activities located in the Northeast Ha Winter Festival 2020.

There were 11 teams participating in the culinary competition from 11 communes and towns. The teams go through 2 competitions including processing and presenting. Each team will have 90 minutes to prepare the dishes and place them on the tray; presentation time is 5 minutes.

The teams have brought many attractive dishes, though old-fashioned but bold, unique and unique. The dishes are made with ingredients and spices taken from the mountains and local products, bearing the characteristics of each ethnic group and region in the locality.

The elaborate and sophisticated way of processing and presenting dishes, plus local ingredients and spices and a special space to enjoy, have created the unique and attractive of Bac Ha cuisine.

At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to the Ban Lien team, the second prize to the two teams Na Hoi and Bac Ha town; awarding the third prize to the teams: Phat Giang Pho, Ta Chai, Nam Det; award consolation prizes to the following teams: Ban Pho, Bao Nhai, Ta Cu Ty, and Lung Phung.

The contest aims to create a cultural space, promote, honor, advertise, and introduce the unique culinary features of Bac Ha. This is also an opportunity for communes and towns to exchange and share experiences in developing Bac Ha cuisine increasingly rich. At the same time, to supplement and develop new and attractive tourism products to meet the needs of tourists.

The first Mong khene contest in 2020, Bac Ha district, attracts a large number of artisans from 9 communes in the district and artisans in Xin Man district (Ha Giang province).

At the competition, teams participated in two events: single khèn dance and collective khèn dance. The contest performances were inspired by the dance, customs and beliefs of the Mong ethnic people.

At the end of the contest, the organizers awarded 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 6 consolation prizes for individual and collective competitions. Specifically, the first prize belonged to the team of Xin Man district (Ha Giang province); 2 Second prizes belong to the communes: Hoang Thu Pho and Ban Pho; 3 third prizes belong to the communes: Ta Van Chu, Ban Pho and Lung Phung; 6 Consolation prizes were awarded to the following communes: Coc Lau, Coc Ly, Lung Cai, Ta Cu Ty and Thai Giang Pho.

This is an opportunity for actors and artisans inside and outside the district to exchange, learn and enrich the ethnic minority culture of the HMong, thereby contributing to the replication of the vocational training model to craft and use traditional musical instruments.
