Bao Ha Temple is recognized as a tourist destination
On March 21, 2022, the People's Committee Lao Cai Province issued the Decision No. 607/QD-UBND on recognition of Bao Ha Temple, Bao Vinh village, Bao Ha commune, Bao Yen district as a tourist destination.Located in the Hoang Bay Great Patriotic God relic complex, Bao Ha Temple has long been known not only as a famous historical and cultural relic in the country, but also as a spiritual tourism destination attracting tourists from all over the country. Bao Ha Temple worships Hoang Bay, the Great Patriotic God, a hero in the highlands fighting the Northern invaders to protect the border. According to historical records, the temple was built at the end of the Le Dynasty (Canh Hung year) to worship the famous general Hoang Bay, surnamed Nguyen, who had merit in fighting the enemy at the Lao Cai border gate and defending the Fatherland.

Not only valuable in terms of historical and spiritual significance, so far the original architecture of the temple has been kept almost entirely, showing majesty and solemn but not too sophisticated, including: the three-way gate, temple courtyard, guest house, Son Trang lord's palace, Great worship building, Forbidden Palace, Second Palace, Community Palace. In the main shrines of the temple, there are statues of: Saint Tran, King Father, Mandarin Tuan Tranh, Sir Hoang Bay, Sir Hoang Dong, Mandarin Bo Phu, Mother Second, Mother Thuong Ngan, Mother Thuy Tien, Thien Phuc Thien Nhan.
Bao Ha Temple has many festival days, of which the main holidays are Thuong Nguyen Festival (full moon of January), Mandarin Tuan Tranh festival party (May 25th of lunar calendar), festival on the death anniversary of Sir Hoang Bay (July 17th of lunar calendar), late Tet holiday (New Year's Eve). Bao Ha Temple Festival and Thuong Temple Festival are the two most crowded festivals in Lao Cai province. That is the time when community strength converges and conveys the desire for prosperity and peace of the people in Lao Cai in particular throughout history. In 2016, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also recognized the Bao Ha Temple Festival as the national intangible cultural heritage.
