The first festival of popular art in border communes, wards and towns in Lao Cai province

On the morning of May 27 in Y Ty commune, the Department of Culture and Sports coordinated with the People's Committee of Bat Xat district to organize the first popular art festival of border communes, wards and towns in Lao Cai province, in 2022 with the theme "Border is homeland".

The festival had the participation of 20 popular art troupes from communes, wards and towns of 05 border districts and cities in the province, including the following districts: Si Ma Cai, Bat Xat, Muong Khuong, Bao Thang and Lao Cai city. This is the activity to concretize the Resolution No. 09-NQ/TU dated on August 27, 2021 of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Lao Cai province on establishing and developing Lao Cai culture and people to meet the requirements of integration and sustainable development. At the same time, it is the meaningful activity to celebrate the 115th anniversary of the Establishment day of Lao Cai province (July 12, 1907 - July 12, 2022) as well as contribute to the effective implementation of the Plan No. 282/KH- UBND dated on June 29, 2021 of the People's Committee of Lao Cai province on the implementation of the Project "Cultural and artistic activities program to serve remote, border, island and ethnic minority areas in the period of 2021 - 2030” in Lao Cai province.

Mr.Nguyen Thai Hoa - Deputy Director of Department of Culture and Sports delivered the opening speech of the festival.

With the theme "Border is homeland", each popular art troupe will participate in 01 musical performance with the content praising the Party and beloved Uncle Ho, praising the renovation of the homeland and country; praising the patriotic tradition, expressing determination to protect the sovereignty of the sacred border, sea and islands of the Nation. Praising the example of "good people and good deeds" in the Movement "All people unite to build the cultural life", "Building new rural areas", fight against social evils, superstitions and customs backward in weddings, funerals and festivals, vividly reflecting the positive changes of the grassroots cultural life in the process of building new rural areas; preservation and promotion of cultural values of ethnic groups.

The festival would be the opportunity for cadres, soldiers, artisans, and popular cultural actors in border communes, wards and towns in the province to meet, exchange and share experiences. Thereby, developing the popular cultural movement, raising the awareness of preserving and promoting the cultural values of the ethnic groups in association with firmly defending the sovereignty of the national border.

In the evening of the same day, the Organizing Committee would perform the best performances and award prizes to the units participating in the festival.
