Lao Cai province continues to accompany TKV Group in removing arising problems.

That was the statement of Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee at the working session with the delegation of the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) on coordination to remove obstacles for the Group's industrial production projects in Lao Cai province. The working session took place on the afternoon of April 3 in Lao Cai city.

Attending the working session with the TKV delegation on Lao Cai province party were Mr.: Nguyen Trong Hai, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thanh Sinh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of departments, branches and localities of the province.

According to the report of TKV Group at the meeting, the Group currently has 5 member units operating in Lao Cai province related to mining and industrial production. In the past time, the Group and its units have actively coordinated with departments and branches of Lao Cai province to implement the contents of the Conclusion of the Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee in Notice No. 167/TB-VPUBND dated June 28, 2024 issued by the Office of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee on the results of the meeting between the Standing Committee of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee and TKV leaders related to the investment situation of projects in the area.

As a result, the site clearance in Muong Do village, Ban Vuoc commune, Bat Xat district related to the Sin Quyen copper mine has been completed; the updating of land use boundaries for projects belonging to the Sin Quyen copper mine, Vi Kem copper mine, and Ta Phoi copper mine has been completed.

The representative of TKV Group also informed about the results of handling landslides at Sin Quyen Copper Mine; the plan to straighten Provincial Road 156; the conversion of land use purpose of Ta Phoi Copper Factory's executive office so that the locality can arrange it for a school; the implementation of financial obligations of Mineral Joint Stock Company 3 - VIMICO; the extension of the progress of the Ta Phoi tailings dam elevation project and the support of social infrastructure works in Lao Cai province.

At the meeting, representatives of TKV Group requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lao Cai province and the People's Committee of Bat Xat district to promptly complete compensation and site clearance at the Vi Kem Copper Mine and Sin Quyen Copper Mine projects; requested the Provincial People's Committee to consider and balance capital from the budget to implement the construction of resettlement areas to serve the expansion project and increase the capacity of Sin Quyen copper mine in 2025.

Regarding the Ta Phoi Copper Production Project, TKV Group requested the Lao Cai City People's Committee to promptly complete the handover of resettlement sites for the remaining 7 households affected by the D200 culvert break to ensure the safety of the tailings pond in the coming rainy season. Regarding the activities of the Tay Bac Mining Chemical Company, TKV Group requested the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee to continue directing the relevant agencies to complete the auction of the land use rights of the unit, and to direct the tax authorities to resolve some problems related to tariffs.

Regarding the project to increase the capacity of the Sin Quyen and Ta Phoi copper mines, TKV Group proposed that the Provincial People's Committee propose that the Standing Committee of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee soon approve the investment policy of the Sin Quyen copper mine expansion project and approve the adjustment of the investment policy of the Ta Phoi copper mine expansion investment project. Regarding the resource exploration and development projects, TKV Group proposed that after the Prime Minister approves the addition to the list of non-auction mineral exploitation rights, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee soon approve the conditions for the Group's units to carry out the next steps of surveying, collecting information and documents before carrying out mineral exploration steps.

At the meeting, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee gave his opinion on each specific content of the recommendations and proposals of TKV Group. In particular, he also requested that TKV Group continue to coordinate more actively and direct its member units to closely coordinate with departments, branches, districts and cities of the province in resolving difficulties and bottlenecks when implementing projects. Lao Cai province requested TKV Group to prioritize resources in site clearance and investment progress of mining and mineral processing projects. Subordinate units need to focus on reviewing and inspecting production conditions, not allowing incidents to occur that affect the lives and production of local people.

The Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee delivered a concluding speech at the meeting.

For Lao Cai province, the locality has been and is continuing to implement the inherited and traditional motto of "Businesses prosper, Lao Cai develops". The province creates the best conditions for businesses to seize investment opportunities, develop production and business, exploit the advantages and potentials of the locality for the goal of economic development. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Committee uphold the spirit of being ready to receive opinions, proposals, and information exchanges from businesses, no matter how difficult it is, they will join in to resolve and remove difficulties, working regardless of "day, night, early or late". The Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee will also continue to direct departments, branches and sectors to continue to coordinate with TKV Group and its member units to thoroughly resolve difficulties and obstacles with the highest effort.
