Blast furnace officially opened.
According to the leader of Vietnam - China Minerals and Metallurgy Company Limited (VTM), to ensure the conditions for igniting the blast furnace, the unit has invested in maintaining and repairing equipment and factories, as well as preparing raw materials such as iron ore, coke, etc. At the same time, it has recruited and recalled nearly 1,100 workers and organized training.
It is expected that from the time of blast furnace opening to the production of steel billets will take about 3 - 4 days.

Delegates congratulated engineers and factory workers.
It is known that in 2025, Viet Trung Minerals and Metallurgy Company Limited strives to produce 330,500 tons of steel billets. To achieve this goal, in addition to more than 194 thousand tons of ore that has been permitted for use, the company is focusing on completing procedures and making recommendations to central ministries and branches to be approved to pre-process and use 5 million tons of Deluvi ore that has been mined as raw materials.
The resumption of Lao Cai Iron and Steel Plant is expected to create stable jobs for more than 1,100 workers, while contributing to increasing the province's industrial production value and increasing state budget revenue in 2025.
Lao Cai Iron and Steel Plant started construction in April 2011 and came into operation in 2014. The plant is a joint venture between Kunming Iron and Steel Group (China) and Vietnam Steel Corporation with a total investment of 335.7 million USD (equivalent to more than 6,000 billion VND).
